Description: The Bible Reader is an unusual application. The app is cheap, but it is heavy on in-app purchases. The basic app gives you access to a number of free translations, like the King James Version. It also has a host of other material, including commentaries and classic writings. Some secondary material is free, but other material costs. It has simple ways to highlight, bookmark, and take notes.
Summary: The app has a clean interface, easy to read and use. The note features are helpful, and the free secondary material is excellent. However, the necessity of making so many in-app purchases to get contemporary translations hurts the app a lot. Given cost concerns, the Bible app reviewed on Monday remains my go-to scripture reader. Olive Tree has the advantage in secondary material, though, making it more useful for reading outside of the scriptures.
