Mumford & Sons' new music video for 'Hopeless Wanderer' got a helping hand from some of today's biggest stars in comedy.

Best known for their hit songs such as 'I Will Wait' and 'Lover of the Light,' Mumford & Sons consists of bassist Ted Dwane, vocalist Marcus Mumford, musician Ben Lovett, and guitarist Winston Marshall.

However, this week, the Grammy Award-winning British band added star power to their own lineup in their newest music video.

'Hopeless Wanderer' features guest appearances by 'Arrested Development' actor Jason Bateman, 'The Hangover's' Ed Helms, and 'Saturday Night Live' stars Jason Sudeikis and Will Forte.

In the clip, the four actors imitate the members of Mumford & Sons donning facial hair, banjos, guitars, and disheveled, old-fashioned clothes that are staples of the band's look.

Hilariously, the actors offer a dramatic lip-synced performance of 'Hopeless Wanderer,' and one scene even includes all four men squeezed onto a small boat with their instruments.

Consequently, the parodied music video has gone viral online. Watch 'Hopeless Wanderer' on YouTube here.

Meanwhile, the star-studded video arrives just two months after Mumford & Sons bassist Dwane underwent emergency surgery on his brain after suffering from a blood clot. Fortunately, the condition was treated, but the band was forced to cancel several shows in June.

Mumford And Sons Hopeless Wanderer Video

British banjo-folk pastiche-kings Mumford & Sons are more famous than a motherfucker, so they don’t have to care whether you like them or not. (I do like them, though.) And yet, they’ve pulled at least a couple of moves that seem directed toward making you, Stereogum reader, like them at least a little bit, including the repeated casting of people you already like in their music videos. First, there was Idris Elba in “Lover Of The Light.” And now comes the “Hopeless Wanderer” video, which features an all-star cast of famous comedy bros — Jason Sudeikis, Jason Bateman, Will Forte, noted bluegrass aficionado Ed Helms — all doing their best Mumford impressions and making what might be the most Mumford video of all-time. The video stays pretty straight-faced most of the way, which only serves to further skewer the band’s deathlessly sincere old-timey pose. And honestly, isn’t it a little bit brave for a band to hire famous people to make their whole thing look stupid in their own music video? I think it is. Either way, whether you enjoy liking or detesting this band, it’s a fun video. Forte’s fake scraggle-beard is obviously amazing, but don’t sleep on Sudeikis’s fake earrings. Sam Jones directs; watch it below.
